Policy Stipulations
Time Limits
Grant holders must ensure open access to the deposited publication — via the repository — at the latest:
(i) on publication, if an electronic version is available for free via the publisher
or
(ii) within six months of publication (twelve months for publications in the social sciences and humanities) in any other case.
The beneficiary must aim to deposit at the same time the research data needed to validate the results presented in the deposited scientific publications.
Data Plan
Applicants are expected to submit a data management plan at the grant-proposal stage.
Access/Data Sharing
EDCTP2 expects publications to be available promptly and encourages researchers to make data available with as few restrictions as possible.
Long-term Curation

Monitoring
Periodic technical reports are required during the project and a final report is also required for the release of the payment of the balance of the grant. Details of these report requirements are in the grant application documents.

Data Centre
The EDCTP2 does not run a data centre. The principal investigator and higher education institution are responsible for long-term access and preservation.
