Inside Hiddingh Hall Library

The physical collection comprises approximately 30 000 books, 1 500 videos, and current print journals. Facilities include PCs, Macs, wireless network, printers, photocopiers and scanners, a viewing room and access to UCT Libraries approximately 70 000 journals and 200 research databases. The library staff are keen to assist you with any queries that you may have related to Art and Drama.

Collections

Our History

Hiddingh Hall Library became the University of Cape Town’s first purpose built Library in 1911. The building was designed by the firm of Sir Herbert Baker, whose architectural plans are housed in UCT Libraries Special Collections. Learn more
