UCTL November 2024 to February 2025 Vacation Hours
-The 2024 academic year is drawing to a close.
Please note that from the 21st November 2024, only the Vincent Kolbe Knowledge Commons (KC) 24/7 study space will be in operation. In preparation for the Diamond Open Access Summit to be hosted at UCT in December 2024, the Hlanganani Junction 24/7 study space and the Immelman L4 postgrad space will not be available.
1) Vacation hours (in effect from Thursday, 21 November to Monday, 23 December)

Published Collections
The Government Publications Reading Room (situated in the Chancellor Oppenheimer Library) will be open from 8h30 to 15h45 during week days, except when the university closes. African Studies materials will be available on request via lib-spcoll@uct.ac.za or Ask a Librarian, for use in the Government Publications Reading Room.
Primary Collections (Archives)
Reference services are available by appointment at the Government Publications Reading Room until 13 December, 2024. The service will resume on Monday, 13 January 2025. Please contact lib-spcoll@uct.ac.za to book an appointment.Other branch libraries:

2) UCT Libraries (including the 24/7 study spaces) will be completely closed from 12h30 on Tuesday 24 December to 08h30 on Thursday, 02 January 2025.
3) Vacation hours will resume at UCT Libraries from Thursday, 02 January until Saturday, 15 February 2025.
* The Institute of Child Health Library will re-open on Monday, 13 January 2025 as a library.
* The Hlanganani, Impilo and Law 24/7 study spaces will be in operation when the libraries are closed.
4) Normal term hours for all libraries will commence on Monday 17 February.

Government Publications area closed over the festive period
-Please note that that the Government Publications area will close on Monday, 23 December 2024 and reopen on Thursday, 2 January 2025. All research requests received during the closure will receive priority attention in the new year.
