“I made use of the DMPonline service at UCT to fill in my Wellcome Trust application, it was very useful.” - Dr. Marakalala, Senior Lecturer in the Division of Immunology, Department of Pathology and Associate Member of the IDM (Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine)

In February 2017, Dr. Mohlopheni Jackson Marakalala contacted UCT libraries, seeking support with meeting the requirements of the application process for the prestigious Wellcome Trust Intermediate Fellowship.

Dr. Marakalala was referred to the Digital Library services (DLS) website, where online resources are provided to assist with complying with funder requirements. He also made use of the Wellcome Trust template on the DMPonline service at UCT to create his Data Management Plan (DMP).

DLS is pleased to congratulate Dr. Marakalala on being awarded the prestigious Wellcome Trust Intermediate Fellowship in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Read more about the details of the award in the Faculty of Health Sciences news article.

Dr Marakalala has shared his DMP with DLS, so that others can see an example of a DMP submitted as part of a successful funding application.
