Figshare workshop at UCT
On Monday 3 July 2017, stakeholders from Western Cape universities gathered around the UCT Libraries' visualisation wall for a workshop about the use of Figshare for Institutions at South African universities. This platform will enable subscribing universities to offer institutional data sharing services, thereby complying with funder mandates (including the NRF).
The workshop at UCT was the first leg of a national roadshow, which then travelled to the CSIR in Pretoria and the ICC in Durban. Mark Hahnel, CEO and founder of Figshare, joined representatives from DIRISA, UCT and UP, who all presented during the roadshow.
Below are photographs of presentations from the UCT workshop:
Niklas Zimmer, Manager of UCT Libraries' Digital Library Services, presenting "Practical Applications for a RDM System"
Mark Hahnel, CEO and founder of Figshare, presenting "Introduction to Figshare"
Dale Peters, Director of UCT eResearch, introducing the conversation on Figshare for Institutions
