Code for Ethical Leadership in Local Government
The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) has launched the Code for Ethical Leadership in Local Government. "At its core, the Code serves as a guiding framework for local government leaders to navigate complex ethical issues that significantly impact governance within municipalities. Grounded in rigorous research, the Code outlines seven fundamental ethical principles that should be upheld by individuals occupying leadership roles within municipalities. This includes political figures such as councillors and traditional leaders, as well as administrative personnel including municipal managers and other officials."
