Draft National White Paper for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services and Online Safety

The Draft National White Paper for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services and Online Safety, 30 June 2025 has been published in Government Gazette no. 52972 of 11 July for comment. " This Policy envisages a forward-looking approach to regulating audio and audiovisual media services (AAVMS) and online content. Drawing on successful international models, particularly those in the UK, Europe and Australia, where many countries look for best practice, the policy sets out to balance media freedom with public interest, stimulate local content production, ensure platform accountability, and strengthen protection against digital harms."
