Gender series Vol. VIII, Gender patterns in transport, 2020 report

The purpose of the new report: Gender series Vol. VIII, Gender patterns in transport, 2020 report "is to supplement previous research by examining transportation through a gendered lens, highlighting gender differences in the use of various modes of transportation and general travel patterns of men and women in South Africa. The  report  highlights  that  females  were  more  likely  than  males to  use  public  transportation  to  get  to  and  from  school  and  work.  As  a  result,  a  lack  of  easily accessible  public transportation  undermines  the  gains  made  by  governments  in  th eir  plans  for  economic  emancipation  of  girls and  women."
