First special report on the financial management of government’s Covid-19 initiatives

The Auditor-General's First special report on the financial management of government’s Covid-19 initiatives states that the Government's "multibillion rand relief package was introduced into a compromised control environment." The report refers to "poor financial management controls, a disregard for supply chain management legislation, an inability to effectively manage projects and a lack of accountability in many of the government sectors that now need to lead or support government’s efforts."
