The Comprehensive social security in South Africa: Discussion document of March 2012 by the Inter-Departmental Task Team on Social Security and Retirement Reform, was tabled at NEDLAC on 25 November, endorsed by the Cabinet, after much deliberation and in preference to the 2015 paper by the Department of Social Development.
According to the Minister, "The 2012 paper being tabled today may be a bit dated. However, read together with the NDP, we believe it will provide an adequate base for consultations and will enable us to move forward on this matter together with our social partners."
