2014 Election Results Atlas
The Independent Electoral Commission has presented the South African National and Provincial Election Atlas of Results 2014 to Parliament. "The principal objective of the Atlas of Results is to illustrate the geography of election results. This allows interested parties to better understand the performance of key electoral stakeholders – the political parties that contest elections for political office. Importantly, the analyses in the Atlas shows not only the 2014 election results, but also a comparison across National and Provincial Elections since 1999, including elections 2009, 2004 and 1999.
This Atlas of Results also illustrates the geography of voter registration across elections since 1999, thus demonstrating the evolution of South Africa’s national common voters’ roll – a critical ingredient to credible, free and fair elections. Furthermore, this publication includes an analysis of the demographics of voters who participated in the 2014 elections, as well as a comparison with the 2009 elections."
