Strategy toward Gender Mainstreaming in the Environment Sector 2015-2020 | Government Publications

The Department of Environmental Affairs has published draft 1 of the Strategy toward Gender Mainstreaming in the Environment Sector 2015-2020 for public comment.

The purpose of the strategy is:

to provide strategic guidance for gender mainstreaming in the environment sector
to provide direction on how gender mainstreaming for the environment sector can be put into practice
to provide a framework for gender mainstreaming and outlining funding opportunities.

The aim of the Strategy is to promote a gender sensitive management approach in the environment sector.

The objectives of the Strategy are to:

ensure that initiatives in the sector are aimed to support the creation of policies that support gender mainstreaming.
ensure gender analyses during the development of new projects and including gender perspective into the whole project cycle management.
