Crime statistics series II, Public perceptions about crime prevention and the criminal justice system (CJS), 2010–2013/14
The second report in a series of thematic reports on crime has been released by Statistics South Africa, titled: Crime statistics series II: Public perceptions about crime prevention and the criminal justice system (CJS), 2010–2013/14. "This report identifies various factors that contribute to an understanding of public perceptions on crime prevention and management. These factors include the demographic and socio-economic profile of the population; their victimisation experience; the public's understanding of procedures within the Criminal Justice System; the actual performance of the various departments in the Criminal Justice System; and significantly, media reports which serve to, quite rightly, highlight injustices, but may distort or misrepresent the true extent of crime."
