Physical Energy Flow Accounts for South Africa, 2015 to 2021

Statistics South Africa has published the 6th in the series of Natural Accounts: Physical Energy Flow Accounts for South Africa, 2015 to 2021. "The PEFA, based on a statistical accounting framework, records the flows of energy (in PJ) from the environment to the economy (natural inputs), within the economy (products), and from the economy back to the environment (residuals) (Eurostat, 2025). These flows include energy extraction, transformation, distribution, and consumption across different sectors. The PEFA helps in understanding how energy contributes to economic activities and the environmental impacts associated with energy use (UN, 2019)."
