Audio Tour: Stop 3

The Hub is probably the busiest section of the Main Library. From here, you can access all other sections of the library, and make use of several different services, hence the name!

Some of these services include: the circulation or loans desk, where our helpful library staff can answer queries and help you take out books; the self-checkout machine, right next to the loans desk, where you can check out your books all on your own and the reference collection on the shelves along the length of the Hub.  The Hub also functions as a study space, with chairs, desks and comfy couches scattered about. The seating along the window is a popular space for those who wish to work and read by natural light.

For this audio tour, we have divided this section into two. So, follow along with the tour, and we will end off in the Hub in just a bit.

Die Hub is waarskynlik die besigste gedeelte van die Hoofbiblioteek. Van hier af, kan jy toegang tot alle ander afdelings van die biblioteek kry en van verskeie dienste gebruik maak, vandaar die naam!

Sommige van hierdie dienste sluit in: die  uitleentoonbank, waar ons hulpvaardige biblioteekpersoneel navrae kan beantwoord en jou  kan help om boeke uit te neem; die selfuitreikmasjien , reg langs die uitleentoonbank, waar jy jou boeke self  kan uitneem en die verwysingsversameling op die rakke langs die lengte van die Hub. Die Hub funksioneer ook as 'n studieruimte, met stoele, lessenaars en gemaklike rusbanke wat versprei is. Die sitplek langs die venster is 'n gewilde ruimte vir diegene wat wil werk en lees met natuurlike lig.
Vir hierdie oudiotoer het ons hierdie afdeling in twee verdeel. Volg dus saam met die toer, en ons eindig binnekort in die Hub.
