Audio Tour: Stop 6

The Research Wing is located across 3 levels of the library, Jagger levels 5, 6 and 7. You are currently on level 6, where you will find a large open study area. This space offers students various seating options such as couches, computer workstations, single study desks and lastly, group study tables. There are also shelves where you can find the library’s printed journal collection, school textbook collection and the sci-fi and fantasy collection. Towards the end of this floor, you will find a printing room and right next to it are the offices of some of the librarians. Should you ever need to chat to a librarian, you can book a consultation with them through our library’s website.

There are also toilets accessible from this floor which can be found in the stairwell at the back of the space.

Before we move on, there is a 7th level where you will find the Research Commons. This space caters for the information and workspace needs of master’s and PhD postgraduate students, postdoctoral research fellows and academic staff.

You can now make your way to Jagger level 5, by using the stairs down or by using the lift located within the area. The next stop will be indicated as stop 7.

Die Navorsingsvleuel is oor 3 vlakke van die biblioteek geleë, Jagger vlakke 5, 6 en 7. Jy is tans op vlak 6, waar jy 'n groot oop studiearea sal vind. Hierdie ruimte bied vir studente verskeie sitplekopsies soos rusbanke, rekenaarwerkstasies, enkelstudiebanke en laastens groepstudietafels. Daar is ook rakke waar jy die biblioteek se gedrukte joernaalversameling, skoolhandboekversameling en die wetenskapfiksie- en fantasieversameling kan vind. Aan die einde van hierdie vloer vind jy 'n drukkamer en reg langsaan is die kantore van sommige bibliotekarisse. As jy ooit met 'n bibliotekaris moet gesels, kan jy 'n konsultasie met hulle bespreek via die webwerf van ons biblioteek.

Daar is ook badkamers  toeganklik vanaf hierdie vloer wat in die trap aan die agterkant van die ruimte gevind kan word.

Voordat ons verder gaan, is daar 'n 7de vlak waar jy die Navorsingsentrum of te wel die “Research Commons” sal vind. Hierdie ruimte maak voorsiening vir die inligting- en werkruimtebehoeftes van meesters- en doktorale  studente, nadoktorale navorsingsgenote en akademiese personeel.

Jy kan nou na Jagger vlak 5 gaan, deur die trappe af te gebruik, of deur die hysbak in die area te gebruik. Die volgende ruspunt sal as stop 7 aangedui word.
