South Africa’s 2023 Grid Emission Factors Report "shows that the grid in 2023 was less carbon intensive due to less energy generation from emissive sources coupled with increased energy generation from hydro and wind.  It includes summarised information and data on electricity production and the GHG emissions associated with the electricity that was produced for the 2023 calendar year."
