Important Notice for Main Library Users Requiring Step-Free Access
-Please note that the lifts in the Students' Union Extension and Otto Beit buildings are currently being replaced as part of essential infrastructure upgrades.
During this period, wheelchair users and others requiring step-free access to UCT Libraries are requested to use the main staff entrance on Library Road. Once inside, a lift provides access to the Main Library.The replacement of the Students' Union Extension lift is expected to be completed by 15 August 2026, with the Otto Beit lift scheduled for completion by 29 August 2026. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience while these important upgrades are being completed.
