Return to Lockdown Level 3: Update on library study spaces & hours

Dear students and staff

UCT Libraries response to the announcement by President Cyril Ramaphosa on 15 June 2021 of the shift to Lockdown Level 3 is to:

Retain the current status quo of 100 study seats in the Chancellor Oppenheimer Library (Main Library).
Close the Main Library at 20h00 so that staff and students have sufficient time to reach their homes before the start of curfew at 22:00
Offset the reduced daily hours, by opening the Main Library and Brand van Zyl Law Library on Saturday and Sunday from 09h00 to 17h00 effective 19-20, 26-27 June and 03-04 July. Visit our Library Hours
Urge all students to maintain the protocols in place so that the Libraries continue to be low-risk sites.
