Cabinet approved the Revised White Paper on Citizenship, Immigration and Refugee Protection (CIRP) for implementation. "The policy introduces a fundamental overhaul of South Africa's migration and citizenship framework. The White Paper seeks to consolidate the South African Citizenship Act, Immigration Act, and Refugees Act into a single piece of legislation to remove existing legal contradictions. The revised White Paper aims to ensure a coherent, modernised approach to citizenship, immigration and refugee protection."
